Gynecological Infections

Lower gynecological infections involve the vulva-vagina, while upper gynecological infections are more serious and localize to the uterus, tubes and ovaries. Lower gynecological infections usually present signs and symptoms in the form of burning, itching, tenderness, redness and unwanted discharge in this region, while upper gynecological infections cause fever and pain in the lower abdomen and inguinal region. Fungal, bacterial, parasitic and viral agents play a role among the most common lower gynecological infections. Some of these are sexually transmitted to spouses. Recognizing and distinguishing the lesions of these infections on the skin in the genital area requires experience. A direct microscope look at the sample taken from the stream during the examination is often sufficient for diagnosis and treatment. As a result of upper gynecological infections, infertility may occur most frequently due to obstruction in the tubes. Very rarely, it can cause abdominal inflammation or abscess that will require surgery.
